This week at APEX Marketing and Sales has been a full-on blend of learning as well as laughter. Every day teaches me something completely brand new. I’m not just talking about spreadsheets and sales data, though there is certainly plenty of that to do too. I’ve started to truly understand what it means to support our lovely clients as well as Walmart broker experiences. All that I have to say is WOW, it’s detailed, strategic, and surprisingly very exciting.
One of the biggest things I’ve learned is that every single thing in retail ends up tying back to data. This week I had a chance to work a lot within Retail Link, diving into OTIFs, supply plans, SQEPs and more. It sounds quite intense, and it is, but thanks to the incredibly helpful team around me, it’s also been super fun and easy to get down. They never hesitate to walk me step by step through a formula, explain forecasts, or answer my millions of questions.
Some of the tools and processes I’m learning:
- On Time and In Full: I had no idea how much behind the scenes data has to go through so many different systems in order to get everyone their correct information to successfully run each little part of a business.
- Content Creation: I have slowly but surely been learning how to create and fix up online items to appear the best way possible to our customers! I also never thought that after grade school I would have to worry about report cards again, yet here I am doing everything in my power to receive the best report cards for the items that I create content for!
- Gift Baskets for Customers: I helped prep gift baskets that were later used for auction at the Scouting America Natural State Council golf tournament, which made me feel like a part of something fun and that would be noticed by many.
Seriously, I cannot say enough things about how kind, patient, and genuinely amazing everyone at Apex is. From day one, I have felt so included and encouraged. Every small win is celebrated, every question is welcomed, and there is constantly an opportunity to push yourself even more. I’ve grown so much in just this last month, and not just in my technical skills but in my confidence as well. I am forever grateful!
Working with such a thoughtful team makes me want to constantly give 110% and keep learning more and more every single day and not just for myself, but for the wonderful employees next to me.
